Why should we have
a Racial Equality Council in a modern civilized society?
Before
answering this question, it is important to remind ourselves of the facts
- facts about the rising number of racist incidents, racial harassment, racist
intimidation, racial subjugation and indeed, unfortunately, racist murders
which are happening in cities, towns and villages of our civilized society
all the time. It is incumbent upon ALL of us to fight this unhealthy disease
which exists in our society.
Personally
speaking, it is for this reason that I am proud to be associated with the
racial equality movement. I have seen the scars of such hatred and I have
vowed to helping build a society which, at the very least outcasts those
who practice racism.
Our
web pages are dedicated to this cause. It will contain material of local
interest to the citizens of Swansea Bay area. It will also be of interest
to people anywhere in the world where racism exists in any shape or form.
Whether we live in Port Talbot, Neath, Pontardawe, Swansea or
in the Gower Peninsula, it is
each and every one of our moral duty to address issues of racism. This is
why legislation has been introduced over the years to help the right thinking
members of the public tackle issues of racism.
Please
visit these pages on a regular basis and please send us any feedback that
you may have in order that we continue our struggle in a positive, effective
and efficient manner.
